My love for photography started in my high school photography class. The smell of the developing pictures in the dark room, holding the camera in my hands and finding the perfect subject matter, all made me deliriously happy. The most facinating thing, though, was my table partner, Meadow. At 16, she stood over 6 feet tall, had bright green hair, a nose ring and lived with her boyfriend and not her parents. She was unlike anyone I had ever known. I realised that more than anything I would love to capture her in photos. From her super short over bitten fingernails, to the clunky Doc Martens that paired so easily with her mini skirt, I loved everything that she choose to represent herself. Did I ever take her picture? No. I was too embarrassed to ask. I let the moment pass, but so began my love affair with trying to fit a person's very essence into a single photo.
It wasn't until over ten years later that I decided I wanted to learn everything I could about photography. It was a whole new game with digital cameras and post processing. The past six years have been filled with trying to perfect this craft. I'm still learning so much everyday.
I'm a wife and mother of 5 kids under ten. My favourite thing to do is laugh. I'm a bit naughty. I'm American born and bred but have come to love this beautiful country of Australia with all of my heart. I enjoy a hot sausage snag on an early morning game of watching my kids play footy.
My most coveted superpower would be to be invisible. So I could go around taking photos of everyone in their natural element.
